I was asked by a friend just what could be done to an S5 so I thought I would do a post on the car for him. I have included parts that I have found and liked, and those that I disliked so you can get a perspective of what is out there for the car at the moment.
ABT:
Not a fan of their body kit but they seem to have made their own brake system, with 380mm disks as well as sitting the car on some sports suspension.
Reiger:
So far in terms of body modifications I think Reiger has the best package so far.
I like the front and the side skirts, with part of the bumper pained and carbon showing, but I am not 100% sure about the rear. I prefer the carbon rear as opposed to the painted rear, but what I dislike the most about the whole kit is as far as I am aware, and this is pretty certain, the carbon is not actually rear carbon fiber but carbon fiber ‘look.’ If that is the case it completely spoils the whole kit as a car of the quality of the S5 should justify having real carbon as opposed to carbon fiber ‘look!’
RS5
Out of all the body modifications for the S5 to date the RS5 takes it for me, especially from the rear. Seems like the tuning companies are going to have to work that little big harder to get it right:
Performance Modifications:
In terms of Engine performance modifications MTM is leading the way with a supercharger kit, increasing power from 353bhp to 500 and torque from 325 ft-lbs to 384, giving an 0-60mph time of 4.3 seconds, down from 5.1 and a top speed of 292 km/h, compared to the restricted 250km/h. These performance figures are not bad at all, however when you consider that they will put you back €24,990. Their quad exhaust will put you back a further €3,495 and a BBK €3,961. Rather than all that you would be better off getting yourself an S5 and going down to the showroom and buying an S3 rather than getting the MTM upgrades installed!
All is not lost however. VF Engineering seem to be working on a supercharger system for the S5 that will be priced around $9,500 making it a more feasible alternative to the MTM kit, with power figures estimated at around 500 - 550 hp.
I for one am definitely looking forward to the final release and hopefully seeing it in a car some time in the near future!

Hey nice post ralph but I must agree theres really nothing too special out there yet, imo they just make the car look cheaper but i really do think that the S5 could have somewhat of more power and getting 500-550hp out of it with a supercharger sounds great but it is an expensive mod!! Thnx for a great write up on the S5!
Sure no problem!
I agree there is not too much out yet and in all likelihood not much more will be coming out, since the s5 is not normally a car that people modify. There are still a couple of companies out there who I think will be releasing some parts for it so will keep a look out!
