Have you ever wanted to drive an F1 car that was made for the streets? One that you didn’t have to worry about it if it happened to rain? Well here’s your chance. The Tramontana is a car created by a.d Tramontana (a.d. standing for Advanced Design), a European Company located on the Costa Brava (Spain) which manufactures this exclusive tailor-made supercar. As they say: It is a combination of a Formula 1 racing car and a fighter jet powered by a V12 engine which produces a maximum of 720 hp. You might think … if it’s based on an F1 car, then it probably only has one seat … that’s where you’re wrong. It has two seats! Now think of a fighter jet … the seats are not next to each other, they are stacked in a line, one seat behind the other.

Lets start with the engine, it’s a 12 cylinder V 60 Biturbo running at 1.4 bars. All this brings this car to 720hp at 5200rpms and max torque at 812lb/tq at 4000rpms. All this power is put to the ground with a 6 speed sequential gear box with massive tyre sizes of 245/40/20 in the front and 335/30/20 in the rear. The rims are made of carbon fibre with a magnesium core to reduce weight.
So one must be thinking, all that power and speed; but we have to stop somehow. Never fear, these boys at a.d. Tramontana haven’t forgotten. The car does have ABS and utilises 6 piston callipers with carbon ceramic discs. Four wheel independent suspension, double wishbone with push-rod variable ride hight (85-135mm) is used on the car.
a.d. Tramontana claim the car has a top speed of 201mph and can reach 62mph in 3.6 seconds.

Unfortunately, the company itself doesn’t give up much more into. There’s no info on the interior of the car; however, from the images, one can tell the cockpit is based on the driver. Everything gears to what the driver needs and wants. It really looks like you’re sitting in a fighter jet.

The dials are nicely placed and the carbon fibre around you show the quality and craftsmanship put in to build this car. The thing the car is missing however, is a stereo. But then again, the sound of the engine and the joy of driving and feeling one with the car will be more than enough. For those that do have a stereo in your car and do like to listen to it, go check out my ‘new’ personal blog, it’s about music.
