BosStylists s2000 Update!

Sorry I haven’t updated the blog in a while, I have been incredibly busy lately and not had the time to get online!

Latest updates on the BosStylists s2000 is that the car is coming along really nicely. The valve cover has to be redone since after trying a couple of colours it ended up being impossible to get the same tone of blue powercoated. It will be done in black with the spark plug cover in blue - will end up looking very good.

The dilemma … Porsche 911 GT2 or GT3

porsche
The dilemma, which one would you prefer? I have always pondered … If I was to buy a Porsche and money was no object, which one would I end up purchasing? The 911 GT2 or the 911 GT3. Some might say, skip these two and go for the Carrera GT which I made a post on previously, but the Carrera GT is a full blown exotic, in which case, there’s a couple other cars I would take instead.

Both of these cars are exquisite pieces of machinery. They both serve the same purpose; however, they do it in two completely different ways.

Gumball 3000 - Arrested at 170mph

Some Gumballers were stopped by the law at an estimated 170mph, resulting in their cars being impounded and being sent to jail. It will be interesting to see if more information surfaces about this in the next few days, but for now here is a video showing a Veyron being loaded onto a flatbed.

World’s Fastest Street Legal Car

I read about this car a while back but have never seen it in action. It may not be the most beautiful thing to look at but this 1972 Vauxhall Victor makes up for it’s lack of beauty in speed, hitting 60mph in 1 second and doing the 1/4 mile in 7.8s at 183mph! Power comes from a 9.3L V8 producing a mind blowing 2,200hp (yes that is correct)! The cost: $187,000, not much considering you will be one of the only street legal cars to put the Veyron to shame.

Many thanks to Louis for the tip!

GTA Motors - Spano

Spain is slowly but surely attempting to recover the position it held in the world of exclusive cars, during the years of the Pegaso, Elizalde and Hispano Suiza. Today they have the Tratmontana, IFR, SunRED and now GTA Motors.

GTA Motors have been involved in motor racing for 15 years. Having developed their racing knowledge they decided to plough it into a road car, the Spano. Powered by a tuned 8.3l V10 (purportedly sourced from the Dodge Viper) it pumps out 780hp at 6,300 rpm gibing a 0-60mph time of only 2.9 seconds!

Voltex s2000 Pre-Production Sketches

Here are some pre-release sketches of the planned Voltex aero for the s2000.

The front looks very good, keeping part of the OEM bumper whilst adding all that crazy aero to it, both improving looks but most of all performance. The side skirt is similar to that of the Voltex Cyber Evo, adapted to fit the s2000. The rear seems to feature an OEM rear bumper with a new style rear diffuser, with side winglets. Overall I really like the kit, featuring that aggressive nature that is found with all the other Voltex kits. Although not part of the design sketches, both the fact that they went with widened fenders on their Evo and STI and the fact Voltex is all about racing gives me the hunch that they will incorporate wider fenders into their s2000 aero kit, allowing for wider wheels to put down the extra power it will be running.

I am really looking forward to seeing the final version, not only because I like what I see but also because of the excellent pedigree Voltex carries with them: Established in 1995 Voltex is highly regarded throughout the tuning world. They have their roots deep entrenched in racing, creating the Cyber Evo and working in collaboration with Tomei and Cusco to built the ‘Team Tarzan Impreza’ for Eiji (Tarzan) Yamada, a Japanese drift and time attack driver. Tarzan held the Redline Time Attack Unlimited class track record at Buttonwillow Raceway Park between 2004 and 07, set in the Voltex Mitsubishi Cyber Evo.
